I use traditional 8 x 10 B&W film in a homemade oatmeal-box pinhole camera. By then replacing the black-and-white values with subtle hues through successive pulling of curves in Photoshop, I interact with and interpret the image. I photograph the model nude in her own home, surrounded by her possessions. I use a 650 watt studio light but the exposures are two minutes and often movement by the model ruins the image. Ultimately it is the collaboration between model and photographer that makes an image successful. In making these images, I attempt to reveal an intimate portrait of the subject.
