"Over the Hump: My Father's WWII Photographs” is a compilation of photographs and documents found after my father, Lawrence Levy, died in 2014 at the age of 90. I knew my father loved taking pictures, but I never considered him more than an enthusiastic hobbyist. The WWII pictures proved otherwise. His images, which are stylistically and philosophically sophisticated, provide a deeply personal and historically significant view of the China-Burma-India theatre of war during the waning months of the conflict. I made the book to honor him and those who served, and recognize his remarkable talent.
