Chicas Alitae, “Alita’s girls”, is a pun in which Chicas is referred to Almodovar and his “Chicas Almodovar”, moreover, Alitae ironically recalls the Latin genitive of the name Alita, that is, “Alita’s”.“Chicas Alitae” are not models, but young women who I met while they were in a particular moment of their lives, in their very passage from one phase to another.Neither women nor children, they remain suspended in an indefinite nostalgia, incomprehensible to them, it regards the loss of their childhood,but their dreaming gaze turned to the conquest of a new life, that of maturity and womanhood.
