For nearly 12 years I lived in Cyprus (1977-81) and Greece, mostly on Aegean islands, notably Kea (Tzia), which is one of the Cyclades. I used analog cameras and shot b/w film that I developed and printed in my simple little darkroom in Kea. When the prints had dried well enough, I hand-colored them with Marshall's photo oils and pencils. The photographs are one of a kind, gave me great pleasure while I was making them, and they continue to bring back fond memories of people and places whenever I look at them. It was a pre-digital era - no cellphones, no computers - a step back in time.
