The Still Life photographs I make serve as an inquiry into form and space while providing a subtle exaltation of the humble. These photographs provide a formal inquisition into the austere side of the material world. Instead of showcasing earthly abundance and pleasure, I explore the virtuosity of a humble world where ordinary objects become extraordinary subjects in a tabletop landscape. It encourages viewers to observe objects and the space that holds them in a new way. The insignificance of the subject gives the viewer the freedom to explore this work as an open-ended poetic allusion.
