Community Centre Pompéia, designed by the renowned female modernist architect Lina Bo Bardi in the city of Sâo Paulo, is a landmark example of adaptive reuse architecture. The iconic building, originally a drum factory, was transformed into a thriving multi-functional space through the addition of two concrete towers connected by diagonal walkways. Harmonious contrasts between form, space, red accents and textures. The strong contrast of the visitor in relation to the large size of the monumental space illustrates the insignificance of man.
