"The Basement" is a collaboration between photographer Jarek Zola and vintage computing enthusiast Ethan Blanton. For years, Ethan has been collecting, restoring, and preserving classic electronics, turning his basement into a refuge for devices that otherwise might have been lost to time. The zine documents his collection, bringing together Jarek’s unstaged black-and-white photographs with Ethan’s backstories, providing personal context for each piece. Designed in homage to 1970s technical handbooks, The Basement celebrates the raw beauty and industrial design of decades of computing history.
