Third Day With His Third Son

  • Photographer

    Honorable Mention

A father cradles his youngest son semi-reclined in a sun-drenched mustard and white toned bed. Their gaze meets. Absorbing. Learning. Purple watercolour from a child's paint set creates a thin veil over the image reiterating the sacred space of the newborn bubble and parental bond formation. Protected from external worlds. Their faces concealed, the connection theirs alone, witnessed only by the mother/photographer's gaze. Colour theory via mixed-medium is utilised to communicate the internal contradiction and flow of modern parenthood - self healing whilst breaking generational patterns.
