Five years have passed since the COVID-19 pandemic, but the scars from that time remain with me. As a frontline physician, I witnessed the pain of so many lives lost, and the fear and despair that changed us forever. This series of photographs is a tribute to my friends and colleagues who stood by my side through those difficult days. I took them the day after we got vaccinated. Although our smiles are hidden behind our masks, the joy of being alive and the hope that the worst was over can be seen in our eyes.
