Jason Engelund’s photographic work focuses notably on the sun as a conceptual and metaphorical basis of source of light, and explores the emotive power of color in abstract compositions. His distinctive process involves creating multiple exposures, combining elements from the land, seas and sun. His artworks serve as metaphors for the mind's camera eye seeing the transformative power of nature. His compositions lead the eye inward toward rational picture spaces before dissolving into abstracted dreamscapes to create what he calls the “Meta- Landscape.”
