Returning to my hometown in China after time in the UK, I found the world I once knew layered with new textures. A quiet drift through familiar spaces made strange. Absurdities and subtleties emerged in ways I had never noticed. I genuinely don’t want to waste these perceptions, touched by a sense of grief almost. Each photo from the series holds a gentle tension. Gestures repeat, bodies shrink beneath infrastructure, trees scar, the everyday slips into something slightly surreal. Their intimacy is quietly detached, and the geometry captures a soft dislocation.
