Contemporary Archive (2016) was created during a moment of political rupture, responding to questions of displacement, erasure, and belonging. The series is composed of found vintage American photographs, originally intimate family keepsakes, later abandoned and severed from their histories. By painting directly onto these analog prints, I interrupt the archive as both an act of concealment and care. The work reflects how identity becomes unstable when images — like people — are separated from their context, memory, and place.
