PRESENCE comes from a journey to reconnect and be present with nature in the coastal rainforest of Vancouver Island. Working with a wholeplate (6.5x8.5 inch) field camera and salted paper negatives meant that the transaction of making each image was deliberate allowing time to experience each site with all senses. The limited edition hand printed and bound artist book is made using three Japanese Washi papers, each selected for their specific weight and haptic qualites in relation to the images and components of the book.
