This series is an ongoing exploration of the chromoskedasic sabatier process. “Chromo” for short, chemistry is applied before the print is fixed to change the physical shape of silver halide particles. The result is the presence of color and silvering into the typical black and white print. It also allows for mark-making based on intentional application of the chemistry. I use this process with landscape to talk about atmosphere and emotion tied to geographies. Chromo allows me to elevate my images beyond the objective description of a location, instead envisioning its intangible qualities.
