PHOENIX Human beings are often uncomfortable with difference. What truly hurts is the gaze of others and ignorance. This series is a message of tolerance and hope for those who must live with visible marks. Phoenix is a documentary project on burn survivors, created using the wet plate collodion process. Collodion and silver nitrate—both used in medicine for wound healing—form a fragile photographic skin on glass. As it dries, the emulsion hardens, cracks, and changes, echoing the texture and transformation of healed skin. — Clément Marion
