Arriving in town I found myself walking past the brightest 90’s petrol station I’d ever seen, featuring a cliff monastery atop. Contrast startling, Rocks 60 million years,12th century Monasteries. Now, a Red Yellow, Shell petrol station, you see in every corner of the globe. On my Pilgrimage, geology, felt like I'd set foot in an alien place. After 195 steps, I captured vegetation thriving on a rock, view of a neighbouring Monastery. Sunsetting, sheltered inhabitants outside, hermit caves. I thought, solitude is why people travel here, whatever faith, its peace we find, seek with our own God.
