In January and February 2025, millions of pilgrims gathered at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) to pause and reconnect with their faith. This year marked a rare convergence of celestial alignments, making this Kumbh Mela a once-in-144-year event. During my visit, I was particularly moved by the bathing ceremonies near the Triveni Sangam where pilgrims take a dip to wash away their sins, seek spiritual renewal and salvation. In the face of materialism, the Hindu festival becomes a reminder that faith and community are vital to human existence.
