Over the past year, I have been documenting Rio de Janeiro’s beaches and waterfront, seeking to capture the essence of the culture that unfolds in this space. More than a place for leisure, the beachfront operates as an everyday urban stage, where informal economies, rituals, and social life coexist directly on the sand. In this sense, the beachfront becomes a democratic frame of the city itself, a place where different social classes, uses, and ways of life intersect naturally.
