When I moved to Chongqing, I lost my voice. Without language, I began to talk to the city. "My Personal Utopia" records that dialogue. It is a tribute to a vertical maze of 30 million souls where I found comfort in "insufficient light." The darkness here is a "ghost dimension," a stratified organism of chaos that became my only companion. Have you ever felt comfort in the chaos? To love a city, you must meet it in the dark, where it reveals its true self. A sophisticated chaos. Layer upon layer of evidence found only in the grain.
