Over two years, I kept returning to the same place, walking the same streets, watching how time settles into a city. Not through its landmarks, but through its surfaces and the traces left behind. Malta’s Valletta carries a remarkable weight of history for how small it is. It has been shaped, damaged, rebuilt, and lived in. And yet, it remains a functioning city, moving forward while holding on to what came before. These photographs are not an attempt to describe Valletta in full, or to document it objectively. They are fragments, moments where the past and present sit uncomfortably together
