Series taken in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea. The region is famous for its tribes featured in ethnic festivals, but this image overshadows the rest of the population. Therefore, to create a more contemporary image of a Commonwealth country independent with Australia since 1975, I embarked on a journey through the mountainous and rural territory of Simbu province, spontaneously capturing portraits as I encountered them. In doing so, my work offers a renewed truth about the people of the Highlands and its inhabitants, a fresh perspective that is at once human, cultural, and geographical.
