A single picture captures a moment. Viewed alongside another, it can tell a story. These diptychs are images in dialogue. I made them using the emulsion lift process, which pushes the unpredictable chemistry of instant photography even further. Imperfect photographic emulsions layered onto imperfect paper surfaces are an ideal medium to apply to visual representations of the human form. The resulting images are ethereal and unrepeatable. It is a photographic approach that offers the means to pursue – and take pleasure in – transitory beauty.
