Loulé, a small town in the south of Portugal, becomes in this project a metaphorical lung — a place of breath, return, and emotional survival. After being pushed to leave home in order to build a life in Lisbon, I began revisiting this territory through photography as a way of negotiating distance, memory, and belonging. Rooted in the colours, traditions, and energy of the Algarve, the work moves between celebration and melancholy. What begins as a simple presence within familiar spaces gradually transforms into a more unsettling confrontation with nostalgia and the fragility of remembrance.
