"La Mafar" in Arabic means a state where the things we try to run from follow us everywhere, because they exist not only around us, but within us. These photographs were taken between Palestine and Italy. From Tel alSamak (Fish Hill), the shore where people escape the noise of Haifa, a city that has never known a life without war, to Rome, where endless wars continue; war for Palestine, war for justice and against government, war between capitalism and workers, and war for love and relationships. There is no escape from wars in our lives; wherever we go. they remain within contradictions.
