How do you build a word from something you can barely see? We, people, are made of repetition, symmetry and imbalance. A zygote, no larger than a fragment of dust, carries the potential for memory, love, violence, fear, tenderness, and connection. From the day we are born to the day we return to the earth, life is an experience consistently shifting and changing with our environments. “what are we made of” as a photographic series explores the tension between the microscopic and the monumental, tracing a path between biology, identity and our evolution from cells to humans.
