Urbicide — the deliberate “killing” of a city — is not only the destruction of buildings and infrastructure, but of the social fabric, memory, and rhythms that make a place alive. In my project Urbicide, I approach this idea through black-and-white film photographs of abandoned and transitional urban spaces. The city exists in suspension — between disappearance and redevelopment — shaped by forces that erase and redefine it. Each image reflects on impermanence: not only of architecture, but of collective memory. What is lost when places are erased? What forms of life disappear with them?
