The Dent du Géant (4.013 m), an iconic peak in the Mont Blanc massif, on the border between Italy and France. The first ascent of the Dente del Gigante was completed on 29 July 1882 by the Aosta Valley mountain guide Jean-Joseph Maquignaz together with his sons, Baptiste and Daniel Maquignaz. In this photograph, the summit emerges as if by magic from the low autumn clouds. With Hasselblad 500 CM, a Carl-Zeiss 250 mm lens, and Kodak Tri-x 400 film.
