Last Chinese New Year, I went back to my grandpa’s sister's home, in a tucked away village called Sibaihucun, Changli, Hebei. There I met 58 of my relatives whom I have never met before greeted me on the third day, during a family dinner. I moved to Hong Kong alone when I was 17, and adopted a new life. There was an unfamiliarity, a rigidness when I came home with my family, speaking the same language, having lost my accent. I felt like a stranger, and couldn't reciprocate their warmth, for the time being. So I documented, in hope that one day I find the meaning lost in translation.
