BEING is a finite series made on thirty-four inherited sheets of expired 8×10 colour film. A flower is placed before each sheet and the shutter remains open for one to ten days. During exposure the flower declines and the ageing emulsion shifts, fogs and collapses; neither is corrected. A dying material records a dying material. Twenty-eight sheets have been spent and six remain. The work will end when the material runs out, asking whether an inheritance is continued by preserving it—or by accepting responsibility for its use.
