For twenty years, I've been making this series without knowing it. Going back through my archive, I realised I've always been drawn to one way of seeing. No matter where I was or what lens I used, a frame only felt complete once a person stepped into it. The places themselves are ordinary: a random street, a plain building, a train car. The natural light and architectural lines set the stage before anyone arrives. Then, a person enters. This series is about that precise moment: the human within the grid, finally completing the picture.
