Inspired by Nanni Moretti's Caro Diario, in which the filmmaker rides his Vespa through summer Rome, I returned years later to retrace part of his journey in search of artistic inspiration. That search led me to Garbatella, where a solitude walk through the neighborhood, echoes inner movement towards the self and memory. Streets, passages and buildings,formed a map that slowly transformed into a personal labyrinth. Through the act of observing, architecture became a means of orientation, giving insight to different layers of identity and sense of place.
