"Fig Spit" looks at my time in the medieval village of Lacoste in the South of France, a decade apart (2014 and again in 2024). While the camera was the same, what was considered slowly shifted through this resurrection of Lacoste. And although I felt distant from who I was ten years ago, I understand how it led to this present artistic sensibility–making so many still lifes meant looking at so much fruit, which led me to the fig trees, which led me to the spit.
